UAE Embassy in Italy participates in food wastage function.

The UAE Embassy in Italy has participated in a high-level dinner reception held by the International Agri-Food Network, on the sidelines of the 44th Session of the Committee on World Food Security, running on 9th – 13th October at the Food and Agriculture Organisation, FAO, Headquarters, here.

The current edition of the annual dinner seeks to reduce food wastage and aims to achieve the 12th goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 to ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns.

This network includes more than 190 partners from international organisations, private sector institutions and civil society associations, as well as other diplomatic authorities, and aims to raise awareness and exchange ideas to adopt best practices in preventing food, water, energy, land and crops wastage.

Saqr Nasser Al Raisi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Italy and Permanent Representative to FAO, led the country’s delegation to the 44th session of the committee.
