KUWAIT, June 12 (KUNA) — Sudanese Ambassador to Kuwait Mohie Eddin Salem on Sunday highly acclaimed Kuwait’s international humanitarian initiatives and efforts, especially in Sudan.
Speaking to KUNA following a meeting with Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Board Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, Salem said: “The KRCS has become a considerable charitable landmark in the humanitarian domain thanks to its field moves in all domains and areas that are hit by natural disasters.” However, he urged the KRCS to continue its efforts and vital projects in Sudan in order to improve the living conditions of the poor.
The Sudanese ambassador added that he had discussed with the KRCS chairman how to support Sudan’s war-hit South Kordofan, mainly in the health field.
On his part, KRCS Board Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said his society was willing to have constructive cooperation and coordination with humanitarian and societal organizations in Sudan.
He said that his society’s humanitarian efforts and initiatives in Sudan are just part of its duties towards the Sudanese people. He lauded close people-to-people relations. (end) ako.mt
