Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, US Secretary of Defense discuss bilateral ties

RIYADH, March 24 (KUNA) — Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received a phone call from US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter on Thursday.
During the conversation, they discussed ways to expand areas of military coordination between the United States, on one hand, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the other GCC states on the other, SPA reported tonight.
The two sides also discussed the joint efforts to stabilize the Middle East region and the fight against terrorism.
They reviewed the US- GCC efforts to counter extremism which is supported by some countries, and confronting the Iranian role in the region which led to the deterioration of the situation in the region, according to the report. (end)
