WAM Abu Dhabi, 10th Jan. 2014 (WAM) — A high-level Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will travel to Jordan on Saturday as part of the RCA’s efforts to assess essential requirements of Syrian refugees in the wake of the recent ”Our Heart with the People of Syria” initiative, which raised more than AED 126 million in three days.

RCA Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, who is leading the RCA delegation, said the trip is the second to Syrian refugees in Jordan since the humanitarian initiative started in implementation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The RCA aid workers, he added, will study the humanitarian conditions of the Syrian refugees in Jordan whether inside or outside the Mrajeeb Al Fhood, the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees, to secure their relief supplies from local markets.

He said the RCA is currently delivering winter assistance to thousands of Syrian refugees facing freezing temperatures.
