Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) is delighted to announce the launch of its preview service for the Doha Metro Green Line, which runs from Mansoura in the east to Al Riffa in the west introduces all 11 stations along the line, in addition to four new stations on the red line, bringing the total number of stations open across the network to 36.
Green Line will operate from 6am to 11pm between Saturday and Thursday, and from 2pm to 11pm Fridays, as it is with the Red and Gold Lines. The time lag between each train and the other in the Green Line is 5 minutes.
The trial operation of the Green Line comes as a step within the trial operating plan of the lines, through which we seek to gradually introduce the public to the network and build the user base before the full operation of the network by 2020,” Engineer Jassim Mohammed Al Ansari, Director of the Green Line Project, said in a statement.
He added that with the start of the trial run of the Green Line and the opening of more stations on the Red Line, we expect a significantly increase in the number of customers using the metro, especially as these stations serve important and vital areas and will facilitate the movement of customers heading to major destinations such as Hamad Hospital, Qatar Foundation and Qatar Mall.”
