CAIRO, Egypt, Mar 14 – A two-day meeting of the technical committee, assigned to consider an internal system of the Arab judicial cooperation network on counter-terrorism and organised crime, began here today, at the headquarters of the Arab League General-Secretariat, under the chairmanship of Bahrain and the participation of experts from justice ministries in the Arab states.

The State of Qatar is participating at the meeting with a delegation led by head of the prosecution of eastern Doha, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mohannadi.

The meeting is being held in implementation of a decision taken by Arab justice ministers on Nov 19. It called for the formation of a technical committee to consider the internal system of the network.

The Arab League underlined the importance of the formation of that network, in order to find instruments to facilitate and expedite investigations and judicial prosecution of acts of terrorism.

In a statement issued today, the Arab League said, experiences had proven that judicial cooperation networks became effective, adding that their cost is low against the effective response it achieves in the prevention of crime and its success in facilitating and expediting the Arab and international legal cooperation
