Palestine joins Permanent Court of Arbitration

BRUSSELS, March 14 (KUNA) — The Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague voted Monday in favour of the membership of Palestine.
Informed sources from the Hague told KUNA that 54 votes were cast in favour of Palestine while 24 countries abstained including US, Israel, Canada and a number of European countries.
The Permanent Court of Arbitration, established by A treaty in 1899, is an inter-governmental organization with 117 member states providing a variety of dispute resolution services to the international community. (end)
