Al Shaqab Racing celebrated their first winner of 2021 in France when their homebred AL MASHRAB (Style Vendome) lifted the Prix de Louvie-Juzon, a Class 3 conditions race, at Pau. Trained by the Pau-based French Champion Trainer Jean-Claude Rouget, the 6-year-old gelding was registering his 8th career victory.
Ridden by Jean-Bernard Eyquem, AL MASHRAB settled in mid-division in a well-paced race led by GRIS D’ARGENT (Silver Frost). In the straight, the Al Shaqab homebred had a perfect run up the rail, taking the lead at the 200-metre post. He made short work of the opposition, winning by a comfortable 2 ½ lengths in front of the pacesetter GRIS D’ARGENT.
AL MASHRAB is by the Gr1 sire STYLE VENDOME, winner of the French 2000 Guineas for Al Shaqab Racing. He stands in France at Haras du Grand Courgeon for Al Shaqab Racing.
