Jordanian King Meets Iraqi Officials

Amman, Jordanian King Abdullah II met on Monday with Iraqi political leaders for talks on the latest political and security developments in Iraq.

During the meeting, with Iraqi Vice-President Osama al-Nujaifi, Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Muhammed al-Mutlaq, and Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Salim Al Jabouri, the King of Jordan stressed the importance of working with the Iraqis to support the country’s stability, unity and prosperity.

According to Jordan News Agency (Petra), he stressed the importance of Arab support to Iraq to help it in the reconstruction process, fight terrorism and reach a common vision on the future that achieves the aspiration of all Iraqis and bring about prosperity and stability in the country.

The King highlighted the need to work with the international community to achieve stability in Iraq and build a better future for its people.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with the challenges facing Iraq, means to help crisis hit regions in Iraq and deal with displaced people.
