HH the Emir Patronizes Qatar University Graduation Ceremony

Doha, – HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the graduation ceremony of the 39th batch of Qatar University students at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre on Wednesday morning.

The graduation ceremony was attended by HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and Ministers, along with members of the university administration and faculty, parents, and guests.

The ceremony began with recitation of verses of Holy Quran and a documentary film on Qatar University (QU) history and achievements, and the evolution of its faculties, programs, studies and researches that contributed to meet the community’s needs and aspirations.

Addressing the attendees on the occasion, HE President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al Derham said that QU celebrates today the graduation of a distinguished batch while celebrating its remarkable achievements and development that keep pace with Qatar’s comprehensive renaissance and the modern trends in higher education, based on Qatar National Vision 2030 under the directives of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Dr. Al Derham said that Qatar University has achieved several accomplishments in the era of HH the Emir, and occupied a prominent position among the best universities worldwide.

He noted that Qatar University Qatar University (QU) was ranked in the first place in the Arab region in the recent Round University Rankings (RUR) published on April 12.

Graduate Mohammed Ahmed Al Merri from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences delivered a speech during the ceremony in which he expressed his pride at Qatar University which enjoys international recognitions of accredited centers around the world and gathers an elite of distinct professionals at local and international levels.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani then honored the outstanding students.

HE President of Qatar University handed the certificates to 529 graduate students of the batch 2016.
