France condemns IS-claimed attacks against Yemeni police forces

PARIS, June 28 (KUNA) — French authorities on Tuesday condemned a series of bomb attacks in the Yemeni port town of Al Mukalla, where reports said at least 40 people were killed and many wounded.
The attacks carried out by several suicide bombers have been claimed by the so-called Islamic state. One of the targets was Yemeni police forces deployed in the town.
“France condemns the attacks carried out by Daesh (IS) in (al) Mukalla against police forces and which took nearly 40 lives,” a Foreign Ministry statement said.
“France supports the Yemeni authorities and people in the fight against terrorism,” it added. (end) jk.ajs
