Bahrain PM stresses on GCC-Arab coordination

MANAMA, March 30 (KUNA) — Bahraini Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed on importance of coordination among GCC, Arab and foreign countries to tackle tension and conflicts around the world Sheikh Khalifa’s statement came on Wednesday, during his reception of the Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Bahrain, Kuwait’s Ambassador Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah and a number of chief diplomats.
He hailed initiatives and joint action that boosted Arab and Islamic stances, such as the “Northern Thunder,” a joint military exercise, recently held in northern Saudi Arabia, and involved forces from more than 20 countries. The military drill was held to improve the military forces capacity of responding to threats posed by terrorist groups.
The Bahraini premier added that the drill has shown a firm and united Arab and Islamic stand, constituting a clear message to the world; that they are united in confronting all challenges and preserving peace and stability in the region.
Sheikh Azzam for his part hailed the Bahrain premier’s keenness to meet with diplomatic corps in his country. (end) mga.ha
