Arab FMs welcome Mauritania's hosting next Arab summit

CAIRO, March 11 (KUNA) — Arab Foreign Minister welcomed on Friday Mauritania’s hosting of the upcoming Arab Summit, due in Nouakchott on July 20-28.
They urged Arab League Secretary general to contact Mauritania and Bahrain, the latter as rotating president of the ministerial council, to hold a special preparatory meeting for the Arab foreign ministers on July 23.
Meanwhile, the top diplomats postponed a decision to close a number of Arab League missions abroad.
They formed a committee to assess the feasibility of having these missions, as well as political, legal, administrative and financial impacts if they were closed. The committee comprises Kuwait, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Qatar, Egypt and Morocco.
They also called for setting criteria over the heads of missions, their age and tenure. (end)
