24 Thousand Gazans to Benefit from QR 113 Million Ordered by HH the Emir

Gaza, – Chairman of the Qatari committee for Gaza Reconstruction HE Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi said that some 24 thousand Gazans will benefit from the QR 113 million, which HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani had ordered to be disbursed to alleviate the suffering in Gaza strip In a press conference today HE Ambassador Al Emadi said that the concerned authorities were furnished with the beneficiaries lists, pointing that the funds will be disbursed soon, adding that the coordination with all the parties concerned is completed.

HE Ambassador Al Emadi said that he held a meeting on Monday with Palestinian Premier Rami Hamadallah and Civil Affairs Minister Hassan Al Sheikh, and briefed them on the progress of the Qatari projects. Hamadallah expressed willingness to participate in the inauguration of phase two of city of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, he added.

He touched on the Qatari ongoing projects, explaining that he would sign a new package of projects most notably the final phase of the Salah al-Din Street project at an estimated cost of USD 20 million, and the Justice Palace project at the cost of about USD 10 million , the third phase of City of Hope project and the second infrastructure project of Highness Sheikh Hamad City in addition to the project of furnishing Highness Sheikh Hamad’s schools.

He stressed the importance of cooperation between the committee and the Palestinian authority, represented by the government of reconciliation. “There are hurdles to the functioning of the Qatari projects,” he said adding that the committee is coordinating with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and provides it with the necessary building materials.

HE Ambassador Al Emadi criticized the Israeli side for stopping the issuance of travel permits to many Gazans merchants and entrepreneurs. He said that Israel should take measure to ensure movement freedom to traders, which helps moving the economy, creating jobs and alleviate the suffering in Gaza.
