Uganda’s President Meets Qatari Deputy Prime Minister

Kampala, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda met here on Saturday with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud who is currently visiting the capital Kampala.

At the beginning of the meeting , HE Al Mahmoud conveyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Thani, to the President of the Republic of Uganda and his wishes for the Ugandan people of further development.

For his part, President of the Republic of Uganda entrusted HE Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud to convey his greetings to HH the Emir, wishing him continued good health and happiness, and for the people of Qatar further progress and prosperity.

The Ugandan President praised the positive role of the State of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in support of the peace process and development in Darfur, based on the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur to achieve security and stability for its people.

In turn, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of Uganda for his interest in bringing peace and security in Darfur.

Then, the two sides reviewed relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Uganda, and ways of developing them in various fields.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud arrived in Kampala last night on a two-day official visit to the Republic of Uganda, during which he is holding talks with a number of senior Ugandan officials .

HE Al Mahmoud and his accompanying delegation were greeted upon arrival at the presidential airport by Uganda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs) Henry Oryem Okello, and a number of senior Ugandan officials.
