UAE urges all Egyptian parties to back future roadmap

WAM ABU DHABI, 7th August 7th, 2013 (WAM)–The UAE has thanked the Egyptian Interim President Adli Mansour and the Egyptian government for their cooperation with the group that has been seeking a solution to the current crisis in Egypt, H. H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Foreign Affairs, has said.

He added that “We continued our efforts with our partners in the group, that included Qatar, the United States and the European Union, to do whatever it takes to reach a solution.” The UAE Foreign Minister added that the group was keen to reach a solution that could bring stability and security to Egypt through support for the roadmap for the future and with respect for the popular will represented in the demonstrations of 30th of June and 26th of July 2013, seeking the promotion of a smooth democratic transition so as to enhance the stability and prosperity of Egypt.

Sheikh Abdullah said, “The group sought through its work over the past few days to end the sit-in, this being an element of tension and posing a danger to public safety and community peace. The group was also keen to restore normal life to Egypt.” The UAE Foreign Minister said, “The UAE urges all Egyptian brothers to support the efforts of the Egyptian government and support a future roadmap,” noting that the UAE will not spare any effort to back Egypt and its people until Egypt becomes safe, secure and stable, and play its proper role on the Arab and international levels.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the sincere cooperation exhibited by the Egyptian government, led by President Adli Mansour, with the group’s efforts to facilitate its mission.
