UAE expresses utmost concern over the developing situation in Syria and calls on the international community to take a stand to protect civilians and quell violence.

The United Arab Emirates expresses utmost concern towards the turn of events in Syria and the failure of the UN Security Council to take decisive decisions to protect the Syrian people and put an end to the use of chemical weapons.

The United Arab Emirates calls upon the international community to take all the necessary measures to ensure the protection and safety of civilians, and ensure the cessation of violence that unfolded in the Syrian crisis. The UAE also calls for the establishment of a commission of inquiry and accountability on this heinous act.

The United Arab Emirates reaffirms the necessity of rallying Arab efforts to joint international efforts, to speed up the process and reach a political solution. Once more, it urges all Syrian parties to return to the negotiating table immediately and to implement all relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, namely the Security Council resolution 2254 and the Geneva 1 Declaration.
