The UAE Embassy in Seoul yesterday organised a lecture, titled, “Zayed and Women: From Challenge to Empowerment,” which was attended by the embassy’s diplomats and employees and members of the office of the Military Attache, as well as several Arab students residing in South Korea.

The lecture, which was delivered by Dr. Aisha Balkhair, Research Advisor at the National Archives, NA, Representative of Asia to the World Oral History Association and Member of the UNESCO for Culture and Non-Material Heritage Preservation and the American Oral History Association, is part of the Year of Zayed initiative that was announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The lecture explained the characteristics of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a symbol of Arab and international humanitarian action, who was characterised by his tolerance, unlimited giving and wisdom, and motivated and facilitated the participation of women in the community, as well as their education and the achievement of their ambitions.

It then highlighted the efforts of H.H. The lecture also told the story of how Sheikh Zayed established the nation and preserved the UAE’s heritage and traditions, which prioritise the family and women’s empowerment.

The interactive lecture was welcomed by the Arab students and citizens residing in South Korea.
