BEIRUT, March 31 (KUNA) — The Union of Arab Banks (UAB) announced Thursday the election of Kuwait’s Sheikh Mohammad Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah as the new Chairman of the Board for the next three years.
The Union’s board of directors has elected Sheikh Mohammad Al-Jarrah, who is also Chief of Kuwait International Bank (KIB), during its 101 session, held in the Lebanese capital, Wissam Fattouh, UAB’s Secretary-General, told KUNA.
The KIB chief was chosen due to his significant contributions in boosting and enhancing the banking sector and system in the Arab region, Fattouh added.
In 2015, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Jarrah was named “GCC Chairman of the Year” by World Finance, a London-based premier global banking and finance journal, due to his significant record of accomplishments throughout the years at various renowned financial institutions. (end) ayb.ma
