Turkish solider, 13 PKK members killed in clashes SE Turkey

ISTANBUL, March 20 (KUNA) — At least 13 members of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and a Turkish soldier were killed during clashes in Sirnak city, southeast of Turkey, the army General Staff said in a statement on Sunday.
Seven policemen were also injured during the violent clashes erupted between security forces and PKK in Nusbin town in Mardin city, the statement added.
Turkish forces seized a huge amount of weapons and ammunition, and defused 39 explosive devices, it noted.
Turkey has been launching a wide military operation against PKK designated as a “terrorist group” in Turkey, the United States and the European Union. (end) ta.hm
