Turkey launches air strikes against PKK in N. Iraq

ISTANBUL, March 24 (KUNA) — Turkey’s military carried out air strikes on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) targets in northern Iraq, according to Turkey’s General Staff statement on Thursday.
Turkish F-16 and F-14 jet-fighters carried out air strikes that hit 11 targets on shelters and ammunition depots used by the PKK in northern Iraq, said the statement.
Turkish military resumed bombarding PKK strongholds in July 2015 for the first time, following the 2003 announcement of the withdrawal of PKK in Turkish territory. (end) ta.tma.hs
