Tunisia Extends State of Emergency

Tunis, The Tunisian government announce an additional month extension to the state of emergency.

President Beji Caid Essebsi made the decision after consulting with the prime minister and speaker of the House of People’s Representative regarding national security, especially on the borders. The state of emergency is applicable starting today.

On November 24th 2015, state of emergency was declared after an attack on elite presidential guards in the capital that killed 12 members of the presidential guard.
