Trump Expected to Order Construction of Wall Along Mexico Border

Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to order on Wednesday the construction of a wall along the US-Mexico border and take other actions on illegal immigration to the United States.

He is planning a visit to the Department of Homeland Security to take executive actions on immigration, according to Fox News.

The newly inaugurated U.S. president took to Twitter on Tuesday night to announce the move. “Big day planned on national security tomorrow. Among many other things, we will build the wall!” During his campaign, Trump had promised to build a wall along the US-Mexico border to protect the U.S. from illegal immigration and to force Mexico to pay for it, which the latter ruled out.

Trump is also expected to eliminate “sanctuary cities,” a term that refers to cities that do not deport undocumented immigrants despite federal law, as well as suspend the entries to the U.S. from Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan and Libya.
