Third Gold shop opens at HIA

Qatar Duty Free’s (QDF) third Gold store has been opened at the Hamad International Airport (HIA), showcasing more than 15,000 pieces of exquisite traditional and modern jewelry made from the finest gold and diamonds.

In a statement, QDF said passengers will be treated to a wide variety of gold and diamonds with pieces ranging from 9ct to 24ct in yellow gold, white gold, diamond and precious stone-studded jewelers. In addition to ready-made jewelry pieces, the store also sells single gemstones and loose diamonds, offering a range of options for passengers to choose from.

The new branch, which has been designed in the shape of the figure 8 by a local architect, is the biggest of all three at HIA, covering a retail space of 119 sq m.

It is located in the Grand Hall, behind the iconic Urs Fischer Lamp Bear, making it easily visible and accessible to all passengers travelling through the airport.

As part of QDF’s five-star customer service, expert bilingual staff will be on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the store, to offer bespoke services to passengers.

Whether passengers are looking for a special gift, or simply a timeless piece to add to their own jewelers collection, our staff will cater to their exact needs, and they will have a high-end experience from beginning to end, QDF senior vice president Luis Gasset said.

The opening is an example of QDF’s continuous efforts in enhancing our passengers’ overall experience and providing them with a memorable five-star experience at our award-winning airport, he added. The Gold store is a welcome addition to QDF’s already 90-plus premium boutiques located throughout the terminal, providing travelers at HIA the very best in duty-free shopping.

HIA, the home of QDF, has met a number of significant milestones in 2017, including being classified as a five-star airport by Skytrax, making it one of only five other airports in the world to achieve this status.
