Sudan keen on “smooth” exit for UNAMID forces – Min.

KHARTOUM, Aug 7 (KUNA) — Sudan reiterated Sunday keenness on securing a “smooth” exit for the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) from the country.
The Sudanese government is keen on continuing cooperation with the UNAMID on all levels, Sudanese Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary Abdulghani Al-Naim told Jeremiah Nyamane Kingsley Mamabolo, UNAMID’s Deputy Joint Special Representative, ministry said in a press statement.
Al-Naim also reiterated his government’s willingness to cooperate with UNAMID on its exit strategy in accordance with agreed upon terms and procedures to secure an easy and gradual departure for the mission’s forces, it added.
The UNAMID and the Sudanese government had held non-stop meetings since March 2015 to reach an exit strategy for the mission’s forces from Sudan. (end)
