Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi issues Emiri decree establishing RAK Sports and Cultural Club

WAM RAS ALKHAIMAH, June 29th, 2013 (WAM) — H. H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah has issued an Emiri Decree No.11 of 2013, establishing the “Ras al-Khaimah Sports and Cultural Club”.

The move comes in the light of the RAK Ruler’s keenness on strengthening the sports and cultural movement in the emirate.

The first article of the decree, states that the club will be established under the name ” Ras Al-Khaimah Sports and Cultural Club” and will be based at Al Oraibi Saih. It enjoys a legal status, financial autonomy and the right to take decisions which achieve its goals, including contracting and the right to litigate. Its statue will be published in the Official Gazette.

According to the second article, the club aims to practise sports activities and participate in sports competitions with other teams inside and outside the country, in addition to exercising all activities practised by other sports clubs across the country.

The third article states that the Club will have a supreme president, who will be appointed by the Ruler. He will supervise over the Board of Directors. The Supreme president is delegated to fill vacancies in the Board, in addition to nominating new members whenever necessary.

Under the fourth article, the club’s Board of Directors will supervise and manage the club in accordance with the decision issued by the Ruler or his representative, The fifth article of the decree states that the Board of Directors will have all necessary authorities and powers to issue laws and regulations regarding the club.
