Road mishap kills 18, wounds 30 passengers in W. Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, June 4 (KUNA) — At least 18 passengers have been killed and 30 others injured as a bus veered off the road in Afghanistanآ’s western Farah province, said officials on Saturday.
Deputy police chief, Col. Mohammad Ghaus Malyar told media that the accident occurred in Toot Chakab area of the Bala Baluk district in the province. The official accused the driver of reckless driving causing the accident.
He further said that the bus was heading from Kabul to Herat Malyar area. The injured were evacuated to hospitals of Farah, Herat and Nimroz provinces.
Farah Public Health Director Dr. Abdul Jabbar Shaeq also confirmed that 18 people lost their lives while 30 others sustained injuries in the deadly road mishap. (end)
