Qatar University (QU) signs a MoU with the College of North Atlantic in Qatar (CNA-Q) for joint cooperation in the areas of education, training, program development and research.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, Qatar University President, and Acting President of CNA-Q, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi. The event was attended by officials and guests from both institutions.
The MoU emphasized on the cooperation and methods of collaboration between the two entities, especially in academic and training programs and activities, conducting joint research and enhancing technical, research, training, cultural and developmental cooperation in the various specializations provided by both institutions.
This includes curricula development, exchange of academic information and carrying out joint research activities and publications, exchange of academic information and materials, and the design and implementation of continuing education programs based on the respective needs of both parties.
The collaboration and MoU will also provide framework for exchange of experiences in professional development programs, seminars, conferences and academic meetings and other academic exchanges and activities that both parties may agree upon, such as research and studies, access to simulation and research laboratories and other possible fields of mutual interest for both parties.
In his speech during the event, Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, Qatar University President, said: “The constructive cooperation between Qatar University and the College of North Atlantic in Qatar joined hands since the establishment of the College, QU has always served the college with its expertise in the felid of education and management.”
Dr. Hassan also praised the continuous efforts of College in the fields of research, teaching, and training with Qatar University and contribution of the college towards Qatar’s development.
“This MoU will be six years long which will diversify programs and partnership between these two institutions,” he added.
Acting President of CNA-Q, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, delivered his thoughts by saying: “We consider Qatar University a long-term partner. We have a history of collaboration across different disciplines. It is a commitment from both entities, to offer the best possible education to our students, develop their skills and prepare them for the professional workplace. We want them to become active members in the community and take part in the country’s economic growth. The MoU we have signed today is an important milestone in the journey that our College is taking. We are gradually offering applied bachelor’s degree programs and we will soon become the first applied university in Qatar.”
