Hangzhou, – The Qatari flag was raised Friday at the Asian Para Games Village in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. The event is due to kick off Sunday with the participation of 43 countries.
During the flag-raising ceremony, the State of Qatar’s national anthem was played in the presence of Assistant-Secretary of the Qatar Sports Federation for Special Needs, Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa who exchanged shields with the organizing committee representative.
The head of the Qatari delegation expressed his happiness at participating in raising the countrys flag in the sports village, wishing the players success in this tournament, noting that the Qatari player Mohammed Al Kubaisi will participate in carrying the torch, and Mohammed Al Kubaisi and Sarah Masoud will participate in carrying the Qatari flag.
The Qatari delegation is participating in the athletics competitions with three male and female athletes, Abdul Rahman Abdul Qader (shot put), Mohammed Rashid Al Kubaisi, Ali Arshad (100 meter and 200 meter wheelchair running competition), and Sarah Hamdi Masoud (shot put). The Qatari athlete also will participates in goalball competitions for the blind with six players: Walid Al Kooheji, Mohammed Al Mohammed, Mohammad Bashir Al Kahlot, Abdul Hadi Ali Al Marri, Abbad Walid Al Shamali, and Ikrami Ahmed.
