The QREC management held a meeting with trainers today, Tuesday, 9 March 2021, in relation to the Racing Programme of the next season, 2021/2022. Present at the meeting were Sami Jassim Al Boenain, Advisor of QREC Chairman for Local and International Racing & Technical Affairs, Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi, QREC Racing Manager and a number of trainers.
The productive meeting covered several matters, including the suggestions provided by trainers regarding horse categories, distances and conditions of races to be put into consideration while developing the racing programme.
It is planned to have two separate racing programmes issued for the next season; one for the Al Rayyan Park and the other for the Al Uqda Racecourse. The draft racing programme will be presented to trainers for discussion and feedback in order to ensure the common good of all involved parties. Then, the final programme will be approved.
During the meeting, the technical condition of the Al Uqda Racecourse was lauded based on the race days held there so far. It was pointed out that more logistics will be provided there, so that the new venue will be fully ready from all aspects.
It was also agreed to have the meeting between the QREC management and trainers held on a monthly basis in order to discuss all various matters related to horses and racing. QREC management stressed the importance of the cooperation among the QREC management, horse owners and trainers and emphasised the role of horse owners and trainers as key partners in QREC’s success in fulfilling its mission and vision.
