Parl't approves bills to amend legislative elections, civil service laws

KUWAIT, June 22 (KUNA) — The National Assembly approved in a session on Wednesday some proposals for a bill to amend the elections of the parliament.
Some MPs submitted three proposals to add a new paragraph in the Articles 2 and 31 of the Law No. 35/1962. Moreover, the parliament endorsed unanimously a proposal for a bill to amend some provisions of the Law No. 15/1979 pertaining to the civil service, and referred it to the government.
The new bill sets 65 years as a retirement age for both Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti civil servants except for preachers, doctors, undertakers, medical institutions staff, teaching staff at government universities and applied institutes, and researchers at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, who should be retired by the age of 75.
