Mohammed bin Rashid approves biggest batch of ZHP’s beneficiaries

WAM DUBAI, 4th October, 2013 (WAM) –The Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has approved a batch of beneficiaries of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (ZHP).

The batch, the biggest of the year in terms of the number of beneficiaries, including 2, 854 Emiratis with an estimated value of up to AED1.2 billion, in addition to 260 final approvals at an estimated value of AED 130 million. The batch involves those who fall under the eligible categories of loans, grants and completion of houses.

This approval comes to coincide with the celebrations of World Habitat Day, which aims to reflect on the state of cities and villages and the right of man to have a house as one of his key rights and to remind the world of its collective responsibility to improve the habitat for future generations.

Engineer Dr Abdullah Belhaiv, Minister of Public of Works, Board Chairman of the Zayed Housing Programme (ZHP), said that the programme’s announcement of this ever biggest batch comes following the directives by the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He noted that Sheikh Mohammed’s directive “is an important indicator of the government’s keenness to achieve the programme’s strategic goal of achieving housing stability for Emirati families and providing them with decent life.” Final approvals notes will be delivered to beneficiaries at the “Partners Forum” which will be organised by ZHP today at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah, and names will be announced through various local media.
