HE Dr Sada Conferred ‘Man of the Year’ Award

Doha, November 08 (QNA) – Qatar’s Minister of Energy and Industry HE Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada was Thursday conferred ‘The Oil and Gas Year Qatar 2012 Man of the Year Award’ by The Oil and Gas Year magazine.
Dr. Sada received the award today at a ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza this afternoon in the presence of top officials and executives from the oil and gas industry.
In his award acceptance speech, HE Dr. Sada expressed his surprise at being chosen the ‘Man of the Year’ of the oil and gas sector and dedicated the award to his team and all who have contributed towards Qatar’s success in the energy industry.
“I’m pleasantly surprised and honoured to have been selected for this award. I accept this accolade with deep appreciation and express my gratitude to the publishers of ‘The Oil and Gas Year’,” said HE Dr. Sada.
Thanking all those who have contributed to Qatar’s flourishing energy sector and accepting the award on their behalf, the minister said, “The recognition I am receiving today is truly an acknowledgement of the hardworking people of Qatar Petroleum and of our international partners who have supported us in so many valuable ways. It is due to their professional efforts and firm dedication that Qatar has become a truly important landmark on the world’s energy map.”
The magazine also awarded ExxonMobil Qatar President and General Manager Bart Cahir and Rasgas Managing Director Hamad Rashid al Mohannadi as well as Qatar Petroleum for their roles in the Barzan Gas Project which was named ‘The Oil and Gas Year Qatar 2012 Finance Deal of the Year’ for being the largest project financing (US $10.3 Billion) in the world in 2011.
The magazine  also awarded QAFCO-6 urea production train ‘The Oil and Gas Year Qatar 2012 Project of the Year’.
The Oil and Gas Year is published by Wildcat International, publisher of business intelligence resources globally. The fourth edition of the magazine was officially launched at the event today. (QNA)
