AMMAN, Jan 31 (KUNA) — Jordan and Canada have signed an agreement Sunday to execute two developing projects in Jordan with the amount of 39 million Canadian dollars, granted by Ottawa.
The agreement was signed by Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury, and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-Claude Bibeau.
Fakhoury thanked Canada for its support to Jordan, where it was one of the countries that have responded to the refugees’ crisis which occurred in 2014 thus recognizing the importance of development assistance, said a statement after the signing ceremony.
The 39 million Canadian dollars will be part of an overall amount of 185 million dollars that Ottawa allocated in January 2014 to assist Jordan to face the refugees’ crisis, said the statement. (end) tk.mys
