KUWAIT, March 13 (KUNA) — The government is keen on offering all support to youth voluntary initiatives to serve the country, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Sabah said Sunday.
The minister’s remarks came during a gathering for voluntary youth groups, held near Kuwait Towers and attended by Sheikh Salman, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hend Al-Sabeeh, and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Sabah, to mark Kuwaiti Youth Day.
Sheikh Salman told reporters after the event that the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs has succeeded in formulating youth aspirations in a clear visions and objectives.
He added that the Ministry was keen on harness youth skills and experience though real partnership among civil society, private sector and state institutions.
The government has also announced state awards for excelled youth which shows the political leadership’s utmost care for this important segment of the society, he said.
He noted that the allocation of March 13th each year to celebrate Kuwaiti Youth Day comes also as another sign to highlight the importance of youth in social and economic development, and the provision of opportunities youth develop their capacities and skills.
For her part, Al-Sabeeh stressed her ministry’s keenness on supporting the role of youth in the field of voluntary work and offering opportunities for them to thrive and excel. (end) bsu.mb
