Fourth Arab Child Theater Festival concludes with award ceremony

KUWAIT, June 4 (KUNA) — The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) held a ceremony on Saturday evening to honor the award-winning performances at the Fourth Arab Child Theater Festival.
The winners are “the mice city” by Al-Gil Al-Aw’ei theatrical troupe and “the city of colors” by Arabian Gulf troupe, Kuwait, and “Mohra symphony” by Zayed theater of talents and youth, the UAE.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the ceremony NCCAL’s Assistant Secretary-General Dr. Bader Al-Duwaish said the festival portrayed the children’s theatrical scene of the Arab countries at large.
He appreciated the contributors of the child theater movement, notably NCCAL, the organizer of the festival, saying that NCCAL that the success of the festival testifies to the soundness of the good planning of the Council.
“The ten-day event sought to implant the cultural values and useful knowledge in the hearts of the young generation through direct or indirect messages with a view to immunizing them against negative phenomena,” Al-Duwaish added.
The closing ceremony featured “iftah ya simem (open sesame) performance, supervised by Mohammad Al-Musallem and directed by Abdullah Abbas.
The festival, opened on May 26 by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah who doubles as NCCAL President, gathered troupes from Kuwait and other Arab countries that offered eight performances. (end)
