EU calls on Israel to stop demolitions of Palestinian homes

BRUSSELS, June 21 (KUNA) — President of the European Council Donald Tusk said Tuesday that the EU will continue to provide assistance to Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, to enable them to meet their basic humanitarian and development needs.
“I welcome the temporary freeze in demolitions of Palestinian property announced by Israel for the month of Ramadan,” he told reporters after a meeting with the President of Israel Reuven Rivlin in Brussels.
“We hope this freeze can become a basis for a more permanent solution, such as a full moratorium on demolitions and confiscations in Area C of the West Bank,” he added. (end) nk
