Secondary schools have begun to take several proactive steps within the early preparation for the end-of-term examinations for the “first round” of the General Certificate of Secondary Education for the current academic year 2020/2021, which included completing the course explanation, starting comprehensive reviews of materials, sending experimental exams and activating evening enrichment sessions to support students.

A number of high school principals confirmed that preparations are underway for the end-of-term exams for the “first round” of the secondary school certificate, which are scheduled to take place in presence in schools in light of the application of strict precautionary measures, during the period from May 24 to June 12. Principals have also stressed the commitment to limit the absence so far to students who do not attend the classes of the live broadcast, and it is raised daily to the competent authorities in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Mr. Hamad Ali Al Athba, Director of Al Sailiya Secondary School for Boys, confirmed that the school  finished explaining the curricula and started comprehensive reviews of students remotely according to the schedule, pointing out that teachers are assigned by the school administration to respond to students’ inquiries. He explained that teachers’ performance of live broadcasts is being monitored on Teams platform, and students are assured of the necessary educational services remotely, so that they are eligible to take the high school diploma exams.
