ASC meets on sidelines of His Highness Amir Int'l shooting tourney

KUWAIT, March 3 (KUNA) — The General Assembly of the Arab Shooting Confederation (ASC) held its regular meeting Thursday at the Confederation’s headquarters, located inside Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, on the sidelines of His Highness the Amir 5th International Shooting Championship, which kicked off yesterday with participation of 350 shooters from 31 countries.
The meeting approved holding the 12th Arab Shooting Championship in Cairo, Egypt, between March 24th and April 4th, in addition to holding the 13th version of the tourney in Kuwait in March 2017, (Eng.) Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, stated to KUNA.
The meeting participants also expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for his unlimited support for the sport of shooting in the Arab region and its activities, which contributed in the development and enhancement of Arab shooters, Al-Otaibi added.
ASC’s future work plan has also been approved during the meeting, which includes boosting cooperation among federation, organizing shooting championships in various Arab countries, preparing coaching and administrative staffs, as well as training courses, increasing the quality level of Arab shooters, organizing training camps, and contracting with highly qualified trainers, he noted.
All submitted proposals by the participant regarding amending the Confederation’s charter and recommendations on improving the sport have been approved, Al-Otaibi said.
The meeting participants represented Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, and Kuwait. (end)
