Abdullah bin Zayed Chairs the Executive Committee meeting of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development

WAM Abu Dhabi, 17th Dec. 2013 (WAM): H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Deputy Chairman of the Board, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), has chaired the first meeting of the Executive Committee for 2013 which held at the ADFD headquarter in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Committee members, including Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Khalifa Mohammed Khalifa Al Kindi, Saeed Eid Al Ghafly and Fares Mohammed Al Mazrouei.
The committee discussed a number of topics on its agenda; and reviewed different funding requests for some development projects in various developing countries and took appropriate decisions regarding it in a manner consistent with the plan and budget of the ADFD. The Committee also approved the estimated budget for 2014.
During the meeting Sheikh Abdullah stressed on implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on continuity helping the developing countries in order to assist them in achieving sustainable economic and improvement the standard of living.
Al Suwaidi said “ADFD plays a vital role in promoting the developing countries’ economies through the implementation of development projects which financed by UAE government and ADFD loans and grants. And we make sure that these projects are serving crucial sectors, which will enable the beneficiaries to have strong economy and reduce the poverty rate. Also, we stressed in ADFD in creating economic partnerships with these countries that would be beneficial to all parties.” “Since its inception and up to date ADFD provides loans and manages grants around AED 60 billion and distributed to cover 363 projects in 63 developing countries all over the world,” Al Suwaidi added WAM/TF
