Johannesburg: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed Turkiye's ongoing efforts to bring both sides of the Russia-Ukraine war to the negotiating table to achieve peace. Speaking during his meeting with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the margins of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, Erdogan stressed that all diplomatic resources must be leveraged to end the war and establish a just and lasting peace.
According to Qatar News Agency, officials from the US, Ukraine, and Europe discussed in Geneva on Sunday a draft plan proposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine. So far, Ankara has hosted three rounds of peace talks between the parties to the conflict and has offered to host a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian Presidents.
On the other hand, Erdogan stressed the importance of upholding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and delivering humanitarian aid, emphasizing that enduring peace depends on the two-state solution.
