Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) held its Annual Educational Meeting for the 2026-2027 academic year at the Qatar National Convention Centre. The event was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, among other dignitaries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was organized to enhance the quality of education and to foster a culture of cooperation and exchange of expertise among educational partners. This is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to ensure a robust start to the new academic year through sustained institutional work and mobilization of resources.
In his address, HE MOEHE's Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi emphasized the Ministry's commitment to developing a flexible and responsive education system. He highlighted the importance of preparing students for future challenges, with the teacher being pivotal to this process. Dr. Al Nuaimi outlined the Ministry's vision, focusing on three pillars: prioritizing people, maintaining authenticity, and embracing digitalization.
He underscored that a successful academic year is a collective responsibility involving families, schools, and the Ministry, with a strong focus on student safety and health. Dr. Al Nuaimi also reflected on the lessons learned from the previous academic year and advocated for building sustainable institutional capacity and flexibility.
The meeting forms part of the 'Back to School' campaign, which aims to engage the educational community through various programs and initiatives. This year, the "First Step" initiative was launched to support first-grade students' transition to school life.
In a panel discussion, key figures such as HE Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and Mashael Ali Al Hammadi discussed educational challenges and the role of respect and digital transformation in education. Jameel Kteim Al Shammari emphasized the importance of institutional culture and leadership in schools.
The MOEHE also honored Qatari teachers from the "Tamheen" program and recognized partners in the "Back to School" campaign, reinforcing its commitment to cultivating Qatari talent in the educational sector.
