Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan discussed, in a phone call on Saturday with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, latest developments in Ukraine and NATO summit which is due to be convened in Vilnius, Lithuania, in addition to the issue of extending the UN mechanism to deliver aid to Syria across border, said Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stressed that it is important for Sweden to uphold its obligations prior to joining NATO, pointing out that his country is awaiting fulfillment of these obligations before Turkiye gives Stockholm its approval for joining the alliance.
