Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held on Wednesday morning at the Amiri Diwan. Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi announced key outcomes and decisions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by commending the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the G20 Summit 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Cabinet noted that His Highness' involvement reflects Qatar's esteemed international standing and its successful diplomatic efforts in conflict resolution and crisis management, as well as its dedication to promoting peace, development, and justice globally.
The Cabinet also praised the outcomes of HH the Amir's recent visits to Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The discussions and agreements made with the presidents of these nations were highlighted as enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in multiple sectors.
Further, the Cabinet approved a draft decision by the Minister of Trade and Industry to regulate commercial activities conducted via websites without a physical location. This decision aims to provide a legal framework conducive to investment and entrepreneurship, while safeguarding the interests of traders and consumers.
Additionally, the Cabinet agreed on several draft memoranda of understanding, including diplomatic training cooperation with Paraguay, agricultural collaboration with Uruguay, and a justice cooperation program with Iraq for 2026-2030.
The meeting concluded with the review of four reports, including those on the Civil Defense Department's work, the Qatar Development Bank's activities and financial standing, Qatar's joint financial committee with Switzerland, and participation in the Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council. Appropriate measures were taken based on these reports.
