Awqaf minister condemns Jewish extremists’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Mohammad Khalayleh, condemned raids carried out by groups of Jewish settlers and extremists on Al-Aqsa Mosque, during which hardliners performed Talmudic rituals and toured courtyards of Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif under pretext of Jewish holidays. In a statement issued Thursday, Khalayleh decried Israel's protection for settlers and extremists during incursions, which turned the Holy Mosque into military barracks and prevented worshipers from entering its yards, which disregarded Muslims' feelings across the world and transgressed all international and humanitarian norms and laws. Khalayleh also warned against continuation of such provocations to Muslims' sentiments, which would only fuel religious conflicts and create a polarizing environment for extremism from all sides. Simultaneously, he said Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its area of 144 dunums, is a pure right for Muslims alone, which is an indivisible right under Hashemite Custodianship.
