An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck Matrouh Governorate, northwest of Egypt on Wednesday.
The Egyptian National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced in a statement that the earthquake occurred 265 kilometers northwest of the city of Marsa Matrouh , and at a depth of 13.68 kilometers at the confluence of north latitude 32.52 and east longitude 24.79.
According to the institute, no human or material losses were recorded as a result of the earthquake.
