Doha: Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized that the MWC25 Doha conference underscored Qatar's significant progress in adopting artificial intelligence, big data, and advanced 5G networks, aligning with the digital strategy objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, global digital leaders anticipate that Qatar will emerge as a global leader in the digital sphere by 2030, thanks to substantial investments and achievements in digital transformation.
The conference also featured the launch of the Mobile Economy Middle East and North Africa Report 2025 and the GSMA report on enterprise digital transformation in the region. These reports project that the mobile communications sector will contribute 470 billion dollars by 2030, with 5G networks comprising 48% of all mobile connections in the region. Al-Sharq highlighted the rapid growth in Middle Eastern and North African countries in adopting smart networks and advanced digital services in various sectors.
The Peninsula newspaper noted the significance of hosting the first-ever Mobile World Congress edition in the MENA region, taking place over five consecutive years in Doha. This event emphasizes Doha's role as a regional tech epicenter, with infrastructure, connectivity, and strategic geography attracting global investors and enhancing the innovation ecosystem in Qatar. The five-year agreement between GSMA and Qatar signifies a long-term commitment and a shared belief in Doha's sustained role in global digital discourse.
Meanwhile, Al-Arab newspaper reported on the announcement by HH the Chairperson of Education Above All Foundation, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, regarding Silatech's achievement of providing five million employment opportunities. Her Highness emphasized that young people aged 15 to 29 represent a significant portion of the Arab world's population and are often seen as an economic burden. Despite challenges, the foundation has collaborated with NGOs to expand opportunities for youth.
