Qatar’s beach volleyball national team consisting of the duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan ranked third in the world will participate in the Elite16-Tepic, MEX- 2023 championship in Mexico with the world’s best classifiers.
The tournament draw placed the Qatari team in group A which also includes the Norwegian duo Anders Mol and Christian Sorum ranked first in the world and the Italian duo Nicolai and Cottafava along with a fourth team that will be determined later from the qualifiers.
The Qatari team will start its campaign in the tournament on Thursday against the team that will qualify from the qualifiers and will play its second match on Friday against Norway to conclude the group stage on the evening of the same day against Italian team.
Led by the distinguished duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games bronze medalist, the Qatari team has achieved many outstanding results in recent years which made the team one of the world’s first teams in the world rankings
