Qatari Newspapers Highlight Education’s Role in Upholding Human Values at WISE 12

Doha: In a series of editorials, Qatari newspapers have emphasized the critical role of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) in advancing global education. Al-Raya newspaper noted that WISE continues to establish itself as a pivotal platform for adapting educational processes to modern advancements, focusing on the necessity of moving beyond outdated curricula. The publication highlighted the keynote address by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, who stressed that education is a fundamental right essential for human dignity, justice, and progress.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya underscored Her Highness's announcement of a new index that measures education quality, integrating social and cultural values with academic performance. The newspaper remarked that education must align with the values that inform awareness in a rapidly advancing technological world, thus addressing the risk of "technological dependency" highlighted by Her Highness.

Al-Arab newspaper echoed these sentiments, recognizing the 12th edition of WISE as a testament to Qatar's commitment to education. The paper emphasized that the summit, under the theme "Humanity.io: Human Values at the Heart of Education," attracts global leaders and innovators, reflecting Qatar's belief in education as an "inherited right" vital for all individuals.

The Peninsula focused on the interplay between technology and human values, as highlighted by Sheikha Moza. The English-language daily reported that WISE 12, attended by over 4,000 participants, stressed the necessity of placing human values at the core of education amid significant technological changes. The summit reiterated that technological advancements should enhance human welfare and preserve the integrity of education as a tool for justice, progress, and dignity.

Through various perspectives, Qatari newspapers collectively affirm that the WISE summit is not just about technological adoption in education but about ensuring these advancements serve humanity's broader goals, emphasizing the integration of moral and cultural values into the educational framework.
