Doha: In their Monday editorial, Qatari newspapers focused on key Arab and international issues, including Qatar's participation in the 2025 meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for Palestine in Brussels. According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Raya newspaper emphasized Qatar's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, highlighting their participation in the Brussels meeting as part of a strategic vision that sees aiding Palestine as a global and moral duty. The editorial stressed Qatar's active role in international diplomacy, aiming to strengthen joint efforts to ensure aid reaches Palestinians in need.
Al-Raya further noted the statement by an official from the Qatar Fund for Development, which highlighted Qatar's ongoing initiatives to support essential services and infrastructure projects in Palestine. The editorial underscored the importance of Qatar's diplomatic efforts in defending the Palestinian cause and commended the European initiative for supporting the Palestinian people, emphasizing the need for coordinated international actions at this critical time.
In contrast, Al-Sharq newspaper condemned the continued Israeli aggression against Palestinians, especially in Gaza and Lebanon, despite existing ceasefire agreements. The publication reported 497 documented ceasefire violations by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, resulting in 342 civilian deaths and 875 injuries. Al-Sharq highlighted the lack of effective US and European pressure on Israel, allowing it to disregard legal obligations and agreements.
The newspaper urged mediators of the Sharm El Sheikh Agreement, including the United States and the UN Security Council, to act decisively to enforce the agreement's provisions and halt aggression. Al-Sharq called for a unified Arab and Islamic stance to support these efforts and compel the Israeli entity to respect international law and resolutions.
